When is the best time to visit Kaptagat?

Kaptagat has excellent training conditions year-round. The dry seasons (December-March and June-October) are most popular, but the area is suitable for training throughout the year with mild temperatures and consistent conditions.

How long should I train at altitude?

We recommend a minimum of 2 weeks to experience the benefits of altitude training. Most athletes see optimal results with 3-4 weeks. However, even 1 week can provide valuable experience and some adaptation benefits.

What fitness level do I need?

Our programs cater to all levels from recreational runners to elite athletes. We customize training intensity to match your current fitness level and goals. You should be able to run comfortably for at least 30 minutes.

Do I need special vaccinations?

We recommend consulting with your doctor or a travel clinic before traveling to Kenya. Common recommendations include vaccinations for Yellow Fever, Hepatitis A/B, and Typhoid. Malaria prophylaxis is generally not necessary for Kaptagat due to the high altitude.
